Sandborn

Sandborn is the banner for golf projects created by Michael Keiser Jr., and if that last name sounds familiar, it should. His father Mike Keiser built Bandon Dunes and rewrote the rules of American destination golf, and Michael Jr. and his brother Chris carried the formula inland when they turned a forgotten stretch of central Wisconsin sand barrens into Sand Valley. The recipe has not changed: find a spectacular sandy site nobody else is paying attention to, hand it to the best architects alive, keep it public, and trust that golfers will make the drive. They always do.

The Sandborn portfolio is the next chapter of that story, spread across three states most golfers have never associated with buddy-trip golf. Rodeo Dunes sits on more than 4,000 acres of towering sand dunes an hour northeast of Denver, with a Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw course leading the way and a second design from Jimmy Craig behind it, with public play set for 2027. Wild Spring Dunes covers 2,400 acres of pines, meadows, and spring-fed ravines in East Texas, where a Tom Doak design opens in fall 2026 and a Coore and Crenshaw routing is already on the board. Old Shores brings Doak to the rare karst lakes and sandhills of the Florida Panhandle, about 30 miles north of Panama City Beach.

What ties it all together is the Keiser philosophy that one course is a curiosity and two is a destination. These are walking-golf, caddie-program, firm-and-fast properties built around the land itself, not around real estate brochures.
